Your AJRCA Alumni Executive Board is thrilled to announce that our beloved teacher, Rabbi Ronnie Serr, will be leading our annual alumni learning opportunity this year. The theme of the alumni discussion will be:
Unity in the Age of Polarization
As a Jew and a human being, when the differences between sections of our communities become almost unbridgeable — genders and sexual identities, nations and religions, levels of religious observance, political preferences, etc. — what is my responsibility to Oneness?
Ronnie will make the final decision on texts, but has indicated he is thinking of sharing a Chassidic teaching from the Ishbitzer.
The Alumni session will meet from 3:30-5:00 PM on Monday, January 28 at the Brandeis Bardin campus in Simi Valley. All are invited to come early for morning minyan, lunch, stay for dinner and, of course, for the always delightful Cabaret! If you will be having any meals, please RSVP to Lauren (firstname.lastname@example.org) to let her know. There are small costs for meals.
For your information, the theme of the annual AJRCA student retreat this year is: Building Community: Creating a Sense of Belonging.
We hope you can join this special alumni event. Please RSVP to Laura at email@example.com so that we know you are planning to attend. We look forward to seeing you there, and wish you all a very happy and healthy 2019.
